How I’m embracing life…

So if I’m going to help people create and embrace a life and business that they love, you might want to know how I’m embracing mine.

Q. What’s my identity?

A. I identify as a straight talking Yorkshire woman who loves rock music, supporting Newcastle United Football Club, riding my Kawasaki Z650, and taking holidays to Spain and California. Committed to being the best coach I can be and helping people feel great about themselves. I’m also generous and caring and do as much as I can for my favourite charities ( including Newcastle United Foundation).

Q. What is my purpose?

A. To be an example of how fulfilling and fun my 60’s can be by maintaining a healthy lifestyle, working through my bucket list, helping my family to have their best experiences, supporting my favourite charities and having a close circle of special friends.

Q. How do I maintain a healthy lifestyle?

A. Having a schedule (which is so important). I practise yoga everyday (even if it’s just 10 minutes). I walk every day and throw in a few kick boxing videos about three times a week. I eat a good balanced diet with occasional treats. I don’t really drink alcohol so that’s not one of my considerations. I meditate and manage my mind.

Q. How do I have the best relationships?

A. The key to great relationships is not relying on one person to do everything with. It’s unlikely that your partner shares all of your hobbies, and your kids are unlikely to want to go to that salsa class with you! I love going to football matches and motorbike rides with my partner. I love family meals and holidays with my kids (and their partners). I love walking with my mum and sister. I love a good old gossip and catch up with my close circle of friends, many of whom live nowhere near me.

Q. How have I overcome my fears?

A. Lots of self coaching and understanding how the mind works. Two of the scariest things I’ve done most recently are to take my motorbike test (holy cow that challenged me!!) and to transition my recruitment business into a coaching practice. After 30 years as a recruiter it was a big step to retrain. I love my new career as a coach, helping leaders to grow great businesses AND to love their lives.

Q. What’s my contribution?

A. To use all the experiences I have gained over 30 years as a recruiter, and more recently as a coach, to help people feel better about themselves and the life ahead of them. To help people feel confident and excited about their businesses and their home lives. Whilst continuing to help and support my chosen charities.

Q. What’s on the bucket list?

A. 1. I love California so a trip to Venice Beach, Santa Monica Pier and the Pacific Coast Highway is a must for most years. It soothes my soul and is my guilty pleasure.

2. To own a home with a sea view. Whilst I’m not big on boating, a view of the sea is another nourisher for me. It’ll probably be in North Yorkshire but I wouldn’t rule out the California coast either!

3. To be really confident on my motorbike and take a trip abroad.

4. To speak Spanish fluently (it’ll be useful in so many countries). I’m doing at least 15 minutes Duolingo everyday but I’ve a long way to go yet.

If you'd like to see how this looks for you then I’d love to hear from you!
