Getting over the finish line

Natasha Harrison Blog, Charity, IT...

Reporting back following my recent blog “how running a marathon compares to a job interview” – I have now completed the London marathon and thought I would share my thoughts on how I feel there are parallels to landing that dream job.

As previously discussed, preparation is key to success! I spent a lot of time putting the hours in and sticking to my plan. There are always going to be hurdles to overcome that you didn’t factor into the plan, for example, you never really know what questions the interviewer is going to ask you either so you have to be prepared to think on the spot, adapt and be confident in your answers.

Mind over matter – you can only do what you believe you are fully capable of. Half the battle is belief – believing you can complete a marathon and believing you can smash an interview to secure the job.

Receiving the medal is the final sense of achievement when you complete the marathon. It is a symbol of completion that all your hard work has paid off and you are a success. This is comparable to being offered your dream job – the offer of employment is the equivalent of a medal!

You have got to be in it to win it, so why not contact us today to help you over the finish line?
