Senior Developer / Team Leader / .net / SQL Server (+ VB6 replacement)

  • Are you an experienced software developer who wants to lead a small team?
  • Do you like to set high standards and work to effective processes?
  • Do you relish the chance to use new technology to replace legacy VB6 systems?

The Role
Leading a small team of three, this role is a mix of technical hands on development, team leadership, and setting standards and best practice.

With the replacement of a key business application planned in the next 12 months, you would be involved in the selection, development and implementation of the new system, with architectural and IT support as needed.

You would also play an important liaison role between the Change Team and the developers while also coordinating with wider Group IT.

Skills & Experience
You should be able to demonstrate a flexible approach and have the ability to prioritise work, show initiative, and deal with changing time scales/workloads.
The role will suit a logical thinking, ambitious individual with a professional manner and excellent communication skills.
Essential technical skills for this role are Microsoft .NET (C# or VB.NET) and Microsoft SQL Server.
Experience of Visual Basic 6, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) would be desirable. Knowledge of Agile methodologies and DevOps practices would be a bonus.

The Company
This organisation is a UK market leader in the area of collections & recoveries and highly respected by its customers. They have an unrivalled client base including most of the UK's leading banks and many major corporates.

Their overriding vision is to 'do the right thing' at all times and they lead their market in customer experience.

In addition to the basic salary there is a competitive benefits package including pension, critical illness cover, health cash plan, death in service, discounted legal services, 25 days hols (this increases with length of service), discounted online shopping, season ticket loans, childcare vouchers.

Please send your CV at your earliest convenience if you feel this could be the role for you.
